The best note creates a new question

A useful note does more than preserve an answer.

It leaves behind a question that continues working after the original context has faded. What would make this false? Where else does this pattern appear? Which assumption is doing most of the work?

Questions keep knowledge alive. They allow an old idea to meet new experience and become something different.

An archive full of answers can become static. An archive full of good questions remains unfinished in the best possible way.
