A good business earns the right to wait

Patience is easier when the business does useful work while you wait.
A strong company reinvests, deepens customer relationships, improves its economics, and expands its advantage. Time becomes an ally because the underlying value is changing.
With a weak business, waiting is merely exposure. The passage of time does not repair poor economics.
This is why holding period cannot be separated from business quality. “Long term” is not a virtue on its own.
The asset must earn the right to be held.
