Strategic patience is active
Investing, economics, and compounding
Patience is sometimes confused with passivity.
Strategic patience is different. It involves preparation, observation, and the willingness to avoid forcing a result before the conditions are right.
Markets need time to form. Capabilities need time to compound. People need time to develop. Constant intervention can interrupt the very process we are trying to accelerate.
The difficult skill is knowing whether patience is preserving a good strategy or protecting a weak one. The distinction comes from evidence. Is the underlying mechanism improving, even if the headline result is slow?
Waiting makes sense when something real is growing underneath.
